A FOUR-WEEK CLEANSING PROGRAM

(see Digestive Health booklet)

The purpose of the following program is to help kill parasites and fungal/yeast infections, clear out the bowel, and replenish with healthy probiotics, the beneficial organisms which restore digestive balance, and boost nutritional absorption. The program lasts one month, with the active, flushing phase during the first two weeks.

During Week 1

  • Increase water intake to 4-5 pints of clean filtered water, consumed throughout the day.

  • Take a 5 ml teaspoon of Colonics each morning, mix with half a glass of water and consume. After the first week, consume Colonics every other day. If you are lighter than normal bodyweight, a smaller amount should be used.

  • Ideally for food throughout the program, the Anti-Candida Dietary Regimen should be maintained (see end section)

During Weeks 2 – 4

  • Discontinue Colonics oxide after Week 2

  • For food, continue with the Anti-Candida Dietary Regimen

  • Maintain water intake of 4-5 pints of clean, filtered water, consumed throughout the day.

  • Take one wormwood capsule, four times a day

  • Take one echinacea/astragalus capsule three times a day

  • Consume a good probiotic supplement

  • Continue with the other anti-fungal supplements during this period (see booklet)

At the end of Week 4 (For the next two days)

  • Maintain water intake at 4-5 pints of clean, filtered water, consumed throughout the day.

  • Conduct a further two days of Colonics flushing at the end of the program

  • Take one wormwood capsule, three times a day

  • Take one echinacea/astragalus capsule three times a day

  • Continue with other anti-fungal supplements during the final two days

  • End the program

Maintenance

At the program’s conclusion, discontinue the above and switch to the Food For Thought Lifestyle Regimen (see booklet). This program is designed to help reduce re-infestation and re-accumulation of bowel debris while providing an intake of healthy fibre and nutrients. The anti-fungal supplements, with the exception of wormwood and astragalus/echinacea, may be continued on an on-going basis if required. The program may be repeated every six months or as directed by a physician.

Notes:

Magnesium oxide

MgO is a common osmotic salt found in the earth’s crust – a wonderfully simple and effective hydrater. When mixed with water, it forms magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) and liberates large amounts of water when consumed. Dr Dennis Vander Kraats, who has popularised the compound’s use in recent times, lists MgO’s common benefits thus:

  • MgO increases the number of bowel movements

  • Increases the percentage of stool water

  • Increases stool volume

  • Increases stool magnesium

  • Works far better at cleaning the bowel than bulk laxatives and the use of harsh abrasive agents

  • Cleans faecal deposits from the walls of intestine and colon

  • Reduces hospital stay for post-op patients experiencing constipation

Charcoal

Activated charcoal capsules or powder are ideal for binding toxins and gas during a process of detoxification. Widely studied for its ability to bind poisons and remove them from the body, charcoal’s uses in filtration and as an essential part of a hospital’s Accident and Emergency kit are not all that widely known by the public. Charcoal does not metabolise but adsorbs poisons onto its crenulated surfaces. It has been used for centuries to save the lives of poison victims or suicides who have ingested lethal toxins. Can be used in capsule, powder or poultice forms for a huge array of conditions.1

Wormwood

(Artemesia absinthium)

One of Nature’s great herbal parasite killers. Wormwood should not be consumed with alcohol.

Echinacea and Astragalus

Used to boost the immune system during the four-week program. Should not be used over a protracted period of time (longer than three months).

Exceptions

This program is not suitable for

  • Young children

  • Those pregnant or nursing

  • Those with signs or symptoms of appendicitis or intestinal blockage

  • Those with blood in their stools

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When can I expect the first bowel movement during the program to occur? The first bowel movement can occur within 30 minutes to three hours after the initial consumption of Colonics and is completely controllable. Sometimes it can take a day or two depending on the hydration of the bowel. Note that although the discharge is dramatic, the diarrhoea is not accompanied by any fever, and is the normal evacuation procedure of hydration. This process should then be continued for the duration of the program, with 4-5 pints of water being consumed throughout the day. In the event no bowel movement occurs after a few days on the program, a doctor should be consulted.

Will I lose weight? Almost certainly. Often a person may have accumulated many pounds of unwanted bowel debris and one result of the program commonly reported is a flatter, tighter stomach. The removal of toxins is sure to leave you feeling fresh and revitalised as your intestinal lining is now able to absorb nutrients more efficiently. Cravings for sugar and sweets often disappear if you adhere to the low, refined carbohydrate program afterwards (The Food for Thought Lifestyle Regimen). One of the other great benefits of the program is the elimination of bloating which you may have lived with for years. A tighter tum? Absolutely.

Can I carry on my daily routine while doing the flush? Yes. You can also control the vigour with which Colonics goes to work by simply varying the amount used. The main bowel movement will usually occur during your elimination cycle in the morning (4am – 12 noon). Without creating a panic in your mind about it, ensure there is easy access to toilet facilities during the first two weeks. Put sports like hang-gliding on hold until the program is over!

Is the program safe? Yes! Only safe and natural products are used. There are the usual caveats. Consult a physician before embarking on any laxative program, especially if you are ill. During the cleansing period, it is quite normal to feel ‘under-the-weather’ as toxins are stirred up and evacuated. Fatigue, headaches, bloating, cramping, skin irritation or redness, are common. The program may be discontinued at any time, if desired.
