During your lifetime you will consume 50 tons of food and gulp down 13,000 gallons of liquid. The average person will eject nearly a pint of intestinal gas by flatulence each day. While most of this is swallowed air, the remainder is derived from the fermentation caused by partially digested food.

You can see the problem. Living as we do in a society where if a little is good, more must be much better, food abuse has become the national disease. What we eat no longer has anything to do with nutrition. With an idiot celebrity chef on TV each night showing us more inventive ways of murdering our food, the ‘art’ of preparing strange, posh dishes against the clock with zero nutritional value and then wolfing them down in a state of frenzied angst has become a creepy, bizarre mass entertainment. On the cheaper end, the great unwashed indulge in burgers, shakes, pasta, Death by Chocolate, beer, beer and more beer, Chinese food, Indian food, Mexican food, Greek gyros and Turkish kebabs… Dr Herbert Shelton wondered at the insanity of modern man’s predicament:

Why must we accept as normal what we find in a race of sick and weakened human beings? Must we always take it for granted that the present eating practices of civilized men are normal? …Foul stools, loose stools, impacted stools, pebbly stools, much foul gas, colitis, hemorrhoids, bleeding with stools, the need for toilet paper are swept into the orbit of the normal.”1

Colon cleansing, while not a pleasant topic to address, is a subject that cannot be overlooked in the quest for extended youth, weight loss, and total health.

Of all the polite topics of conversation, the state of one’s intestines is probably at the bottom of most people’s lists. Let’s face it: Irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, gas, diverticulitis and colon cancer are simply not things we like to discuss. And yet, as the old expression goes, death begins in the colon. Don’t believe it? Ask any coroner. Autopsies often reveal colons that are plugged up to 80 percent with waste material.” – Vegetarian Times, March 1998

Mucoid plaque, parasites and impacted toxic metabolites can be removed with a modified diet as well as with certain purgative agents that can assist in restoring the colon and intestines to full function. It is essential to allow the body to clean itself of detritus that has collected in the digestive system over the years, hampering the body’s ability to absorb the nutrients it craves through the intestinal lining. A magnesium oxide colon cleanse, when used as directed, hydrates the colon and assists in flushing the entire length of the digestive tract.

Detoxifying the digestive tract and replenishing the intestinal micro-flora can help:

  • Prevent illness

  • Improve your physical appearance

  • Control or eliminate yeast overgrowths

  • Boost your emotional well-being

  • Sharpen your mental capabilities

  • Give you better, more complete digestion

  • Eliminate unhealthy food addictions & allergies

  • Help reduce or attain your ideal body weight

  • Help reduce the effects of ageing

Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a common osmotic salt found in the earth’s crust – a wonderfully simple and effective hydrater. When mixed with water, it forms magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) and liberates large amounts of water when consumed. Dr Dennis Vander Kraats, who has popularised the compound’s use in recent times, lists MgO’s common benefits thus:

  • MgO increases the number of bowel movements

  • Increases the percentage of stool water

  • Increases stool volume

  • Increases stool magnesium

  • Works far better at cleaning the bowel than bulk laxatives and the use of harsh abrasive agents

  • Cleans faecal deposits from the walls of intestine and colon

  • Reduces hospital stay for post-op patients experiencing constipation
